On January 10, 2011, the Mission of the Republic of Belarus to the European Union deposited Belarus’ instrument of accession to the International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of Customs Procedures (revised Kyoto Convention) with the World Customs Organization. The Convention is regarded as a blueprint for effective and modern Customs procedures, and will enter into force in Belarus on April 10, 2011.
Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry has released a summary of the Program to Promote the Spread of Green Home Appliances by Utilizing Eco-Points' implementation status from July 2009 to December 2010. Applications have been accepted for eco-points from individuals since July 2009, and from corporations since August 2009. The program is aimed to promote global warming countermeasures, stimulate the economy, and facilitate wider use of televisions for terrestrial digital broadcasting.
On January 18, 2011, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that China will continue rare earth exports and will regulate export quotas according to World Trade Organization rules. The full-year quotas are under discussion and will be announced timely. China announced its first batch of 2011 rare earth export quotas at 14,446 tons at the end of 2010.
According to Global Economic Prospects, the World Bank’s biannual report on global economic trends, Sub-Saharan Africa is enjoying good short-term economic prospects. The report notes that Africa’s gross domestic product (GDP) jumped 4.7 percent in 2010, a trend that is expected to hold steady in 2011 and 2012, at 5.3 percent and 5.7 percent, respectively.

Purchasers can now choose from Standard ePub format, ePub format optimized for Apple’s iPad and iPhone, and Mobipocket format, compatible with Amazon’s Kindle.
