World Trade Organization Director-General Pascal Lamy announced at a Trade Negotiations Committee meeting on November 30, 2010 an “intensive work program" to finish the Doha Round by the end of next year. He said: “We have the political signal, we have the technical expertise and we have the work program. We now need to translate these into a comprehensive deal which you can all take back home. The final countdown starts now.”
The World Trade Organization announces that at the request of the participants (the European Union and the U.S.) in the dispute “European Communities and Certain Member States — Measures Affecting Trade in Large Civil Aircraft” (DS316/R), the Division hearing the appeal has decided to authorize public observation of the second oral hearing on December 14, 2010. Given the participants' request to protect certain sensitive business information, public observation will be limited to the opening statements and will take place via delayed broadcast.
