The Canada Border Services Agency has announced that it will now conclude by November 16, 2010 its re-investigation of certain flat hot-rolled carbon and alloy steel sheet and strip originating in or exported from Brazil, China, Chinese Taipei, Ukraine, South Africa and India (dumping), and certain flat hot-rolled carbon and alloy steel sheet and strip originating in or exported from India (subsidizing).
Canada's Department of Finance has announced a new tariff relief measure that waives the 25% tariff on imports of all general cargo vessels and tankers, as well as ferries longer than 129 meters. The measure builds on the Government’s recent aggressive tariff relief to support the manufacturing sector, and supports Canada’s Economic Action Plan’s objectives of lower taxes and promoting a more competitive economy.

Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Sharma, during a bilateral meeting with Russian Trade and Industry Minister Khristenko, urged Russia to open up sectors like Bovine meat, animal products and pharmaceuticals. The two sides also agreed to enhance efforts to meet their October 2009 goal of enhancing bilateral trade from the current $4.5 billion to $20 billion by 2015.
According to the Canada Gazette, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is initiating investigations into the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of certain metal bar grating of carbon, alloy, or stainless steel originating in or exported from China.The Canadian International Trade Tribunal's preliminary injury determination is due by November 19, 2010.
