The International Trade Administration announces that the President’s Export Council will hold a meeting on March 11, 2011 to discuss topics related to the National Export Initiative, and to provide advice regarding how to promote U.S. exports, jobs, and growth. Comments are due by March 1, 2011.

Census has issued an AES broadcast announcing that the Bureau of Industry and Security will be holding an Export Controls Conference in Irvine, CA on February 28, 2011-March 1, 2011. This day-and-a-half conference will feature key management, policy, legal and licensing specialists from the Bureau of Industry and Security, the Departments of State, Defense and Treasury, and the Bureau of the Census. Agriculture Secretary Vilsack has stated that China has become the U.S.' number one market for agricultural exports, surpassing Canada. Exports to China were over $17.5 billion in the last calendar year, up 34% from $13.1 billion in calendar year 2009. Canadian exports also increased by 7% but not enough to maintain its number one status. Mexico is now the U.S.' third largest market, with exports up 13% at about $14.6 billion.
