As part of a reduction in force, Overseas Shipholding Group said Myles Itkin has left the company as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer.

Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) Chairman Richard Lidinsky resigned from his post but will stay on as a commissioner, said a March 30 FMC press release. "It has been a great honor to serve as Chairman for the President’s first term and I am proud of the changes we have brought to our agency so it can better serve the American exporter, importer and consumer," he said. President Obama will designate Commissioner Mario Cordero as the next FMC Chairman, the release said. "I look forward as a Commissioner to continue working with [Cordero] on these goals and new challenges during the President’s second term," said Lidinsky. Lidinsky became Chairman in 2009. The FMC didn't return a request for comment.
Former U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk joined the law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher as a senior of counsel, the firm announced April 1. Kirk officially stepped down from his ambassador role in February (see 13031502). Kirk will "focus on providing strategic advice to companies with global interests," out of the firm's Washington, D.C. and Dallas offices, the firm said. “I have been relentless in advocating our nation’s interests around the world,” said Kirk in a statement from the firm. “I will carry that same passion and dedication into my work in the private sector."
Myles Getlan, previously with Arent Fox, joined Cassidy Levy as a partner in the Washington office, according to a March 11 press release.
Randolph Alles was appointed as assistant commissioner of the CBP Office of Air and Marine in January, said a CBP notice. Alles was previously deputy assistant commissioner in that office.
The American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) named Philip Williamson, CEO of Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing as the new Chairman of the AAFA Board of Directors, AAFA said in a press release. AAFA also said Rick Helfenbein, president of TellaS, Ltd., Luen Thai, USA, moved up to the Vice Chairman position, Rob DeMartini, CEO of New Balance Athletic Shoe, moved up to the Treasurer position, and that Paula Zusi, chief supply chain officer of Ann Inc., has joined the board leadership as Secretary. New to the AAFA board are Al Gervais, chief operating officer of Marc Fisher Footwear, Edward Gribbin, president of Alvanon, and Tim Mantel, president of Target Sourcing Services, said AAFA.
Frank Schweitzer, previously associate general counsel at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, joins K&L Gates as a partner in the firm's international arbitration and international trade practices.
Washington lawyer Richard Taranto has been confirmed as a judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The Senate officially confirmed Taranto on March 11.
Robert Mulligan was chosen by the U.S. Council for International Business (USCIB) to lead policy advocacy, said USCIB. Mulligan will also continue to run USCIB’s Washington office, said a USCIB spokesman. Mulligan takes over from Ronnie Goldberg, who is retiring, said USCIB.
