The International Trade Commission seeks comments by Sept. 17 on a Section 337 complaint alleging that imports of microcurrent facial toning devices infringe patents held by ZIIP Inc. and The Beauty Tech Group Ltd., it said in a notice to be published Sept. 9 in the Federal Register. According to the complaint, the respondents are seeking a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against California company The Carol Cole Co., operating as NuFace, to bar from entry "certain microcurrent facial toning devices and systems thereof" that violate their patents. The respondents said their products "treat cosmetic imperfections including wrinkles, acne, and uneven skin tone."
The Commerce Department issued notices in the Federal Register on its recently initiated antidumping duty investigations on high purity dissolving pulp from Brazil (A-351-866) and Norway (A-403-808), as well as its countervailing duty investigation on high purity dissolving pulp from Brazil (C-351-867). The CVD investigation covers entries for calendar year 2024. The AD investigations cover entries July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.

The International Trade Commission seeks comments by Sept. 12 on a Section 337 complaint alleging that imports of LCD devices infringe patents held by BH Innovations, it said in a Sept. 4 notice in the Federal Register. According to the complaint, BHI is seeking a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against HKC, HiSense, Vizio, TCL, TTE Technology, LG Electronics, Westinghouse and their subsidiaries to bar from entry "certain liquid crystal devices, components thereof, and products containing the same" that violate its patents. BHI said that its patents include "innovations relating to ... pixel layouts, electrode structures, panel seals and terminals, and driving circuitry."
The Commerce Department is beginning new antidumping duty and countervailing duty investigations on high purity dissolving pulp from Brazil and Norway, it said in a fact sheet released Sept. 3. The underlying petition was filed in August (see 2508140024). The International Trade Commission is scheduled to make its preliminary injury determination by Sept. 26. The investigation will continue only if the ITC finds injury. International Trade Today will provide more details upon publication of the initiation notices in the Federal Register.

The Commerce Department and the International Trade Commission began five-year sunset reviews of the antidumping duty and countervailing duty orders on kitchen appliance shelving and racks from China (A-570-941/C-570-942), as well as the antidumping duty order on steel concrete reinforcing bar from Mexico (A-201-844) and the countervailing duty order on steel concrete reinforcing bar from Turkey (C-489-819), Commerce said in a notice Sept. 2.
