The Commerce Department's Office of Textiles and Apparel is asking for comments by March 7 (here) on its procedures for determining whether bulk quantities of particular apparel inputs are readily available in South Korea for the purposes of the U.S.-South Korea Free Trade Agreement. The agency is also asking for comments on its procedures considering requests related to textile and apparel safeguard provisions (here).

The Bureau of Industry and Security’s Office of Export Enforcement has issued a 180-day order denying the export privileges of Ribway Airlines, Af-Aviation, Af-Aviation Director Andy Farmer, John Edward Meadows, and Jeffrey John James Ashfield, effective Jan. 19, BIS said (here). The five parties attempted to sell two U.S.-origin aircraft subject to Export Administration Regulations to Iran-based Caspian Airlines, which Treasury designated in 2014 as a supporter of terrorism. Meadows and Ashfield were involved in brokering the sale of the aircraft, BIS said (here).
