U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted an updated version of its TRQ/TPL "threshold to fill" list, a quick reference to monitor TRQs and TPLs that are approaching their restraint limit or have filled their in-quota (low) rate. The list is divided into two sections: those that are at least 85% filled and those that are filled.

The Port of Long Beach has announced that three engineering and construction teams have submitted proposals to design and rebuild a new span to replace the port's 44-year-old Gerald Desmond Bridge. The three teams are: (1) Dragados USA Inc./Flatiron West Inc./CC Myers Inc.; (2) Shimmick Construction Company Inc./FCC Construction S.A./Impregilo S.p.A; and (3) Skanska/Traylor/Massman. The new bridge will have a higher clearance to accommodate the newest generation of efficient cargo ships. It will be wider, adding emergency lanes, to safely serve the thousands of cars and trucks that travel the route each day. Construction is expected to begin in 2013. The existing bridge will remain open until the new span has been completed.
