CBP has posted an updated version of its TRQ/TPL "threshold to fill" list, a quick reference to monitor TRQs and TPLs that are approaching their restraint limit or have filled their in-quota (low) rate. The list is divided into two sections: those that are at least 85% filled and those that are filled.
CBP's Port of Boston has issued a Public Information Notice announcing the re-alignment of commodity team numbers and personnel changes. CBP has issued a CSMS message notifying those carriers who report inward manifest data to CBP using the ANSI X.12 reporting format that transactions made on November 26, 2010, between the hours of 8:30 and 10:30 am EST, were not processed by the CBP mainframe. The applications include manifests, amendments, vessel/rail/truck and inbond arrivals. Any carrier who has not received results from a transmission made during this period is requested to re-transmit the data to CBP.
CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that the Detroit Client Representative office has been experiencing issues with the primary contact number of 313-226-7603. A work order has been placed but, until this issue is resolved, please use 313-226-3139 along with the usual extension numbers of 275, 276, or 277.
CBP has posted the weekly foreign currency exchange rate multipliers for the week ending November 26, 2010.
In October 2010, U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued a proposed rule that would amend 19 CFR 111.24 to allow customs brokers to disclose certain information regarding client (importer) records under certain conditions. Comments on the proposed rule are due by December 27, 2010.
