The Department of Homeland Security announces the first-ever graduation of Mexican customs officials from a 10-week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement-led investigator training course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy in North Charleston, SC. The course included coursework in both Mexican and U.S. customs law, as well as training in a wide variety of investigative techniques, officer safety tactics, and ethics, to provide the graduates with the tools and knowledge necessary to combat cross-border crime, including money laundering, customs offenses and weapons and drug trafficking.

At its monthly meeting on October 21, 2010, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Board of Commissioners authorized $3 million for planning and preliminary design work for the development of an intermodal container transfer facility at the Greenville Yard-Port Authority Marine Terminal.

The Port of Long Beach reports that the governing board of the Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) Joint Powers Authority will meet on October 26, 2010. The proposed agenda includes an update on preparation of an EIR for the ICTF Modernization and Expansion Project. The meeting is open to the public and attendees are welcome to address the board.
