CBP has posted an updated version of its TRQ/TPL "threshold to fill" list, a quick reference to monitor TRQs and TPLs that are approaching their restraint limit or have filled their in-quota (low) rate. The list is divided into two sections: those that are at least 85% filled and those that are filled.
CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that the number of rows available when running an Authorized Data Extract report increased from 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 rows effective August 1, 2010. The data is returned in a raw data format and will need to be saved in an “Excel” or “CSV” format for data manipulation. An Authorized Data Extract report should be used when the data requested in one report exceeds the current data quantity limitation of 65,000 rows. CBP notes that only the Trade Account Owner or the Proxy Trade Account Owner can schedule the Authorized Data Extract reports. Authorized Data Extracts will be returned to the “inbox.” The "Create Date Begin and End," which defaults to 01/01/2006 01/01/2007, needs to be changed before scheduling the extract. For extract of 1,000,000 rows or larger, CBP recommends opening them during non-peak hours.

At the August 4, 2010 COAC meeting, CBP announced that Cindy Allen, National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America Educational Institute Director, has been named Executive Director of the Automated Commercial Environment. According to CBP, Allen will be working in CBP's Office of Trade, under Dan Baldwin.

Broker Power is now issuing weekly summary reports highlighting the most active textile and apparel tariff preference levels1 from U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s “Quota Weekly Commodity Status Report.” BP’s weekly report also lists the TRQ commodities on CBP’s weekly “TRQ/TPL Threshold to Fill List.”
