CBP has posted the weekly foreign currency exchange rate multipliers for the week ending July 23, 2010.
CBP has posted an updated version of its Public Automated Commercial System FIRMS (Facilities Information and Resources Management Systems) report that is organized by port code and alphabetically by company name.
CBP has issued its weekly tariff rate quota and tariff preference level commodity report as of July 26, 2010. This report includes TRQs on various products such as beef, sugar, dairy products, peanuts, cotton, cocoa products, and tobacco; and certain BFTA, DR-CAFTA, Israel FTA, JFTA, MFTA, OFTA, SFTA, UAFTA (AFTA) and UCFTA (Chile FTA) non-textile TRQs; etc. Each report also includes the AGOA, ATPDEA, BFTA, DR-CAFTA, CBTPA, Haitian HOPE, MFTA, NAFTA, OFTA, SFTA, and UCFTA TPLs and TRQs for qualifying textile articles and/or other articles; the TRQs on worsted wool fabrics; etc.

The Port of Long Beach issued a news release stating that since 9/11, seaport security has been an area of great interest to the public. The Port of Long Beach has made strides in recent years to upgrade its security systems and develop new technologies, including new radiation scanners (Advanced Spectroscopic Portals), designed to better protect seaports from nuclear threats. This summer the Port’s Piers A and J facilities became among the first shipping terminals in the nation with the scanners.
CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that it is currently experiencing a problem with creating a new ACE report and modifying existing reports. The “canned” ACE reports are working correctly. CBP will be delivering a production repair on Tuesday evening, July 27, 2010.
CBP has issued a CSMS message announcing the discontinuation of the Drawback Diskette Filing Program because it is no longer able to support security measures to protect CBP automated systems. (The drawback diskette program was implemented in October of 1994 and the drawback program was fully automated in 1995.)
