CBP created Harmonized System Update 2412 on Aug. 13, containing 1,000 Harmonized Tariff Schedule records and 4,158 Automated Broker Interface (ABI) records. The update includes several updates to PGA HTS flag indicator for AMS (AM7) and adjustments required by the verification of the 2024 HTS. In the Aug. 7 Customs Bulletin (Vol. 58, No. 31), CBP published proposals to revoke ruling letters concerning child-sized portable toilets and forged titanium billets.
Effective immediately, CBP will no longer detain shipments of seafood products harvested by Yu Long No. 2, a Taiwan-flagged fishing vessel.
Consumers who purchase the drug omeprazole are the "ultimate" purchasers of imported prescription medication, not the retail pharmacy that may be supplying the drug, the CBP ruled June 14.
The International Trade Commission published notices in the Aug. 13 Federal Register on the following AD/CVD injury, Section 337 patent or other trade proceedings (any notices that warrant a more detailed summary will be in another ITT article):
The International Trade Commission is beginning a Section 337 investigation on allegations from MimirIP that imports of NAND devices from Micron and electronic devices from several of its downstream customers are infringing on its patents, the ITC said in a notice Aug. 13. In its July complaint (see 2407160011), MimirIP said Micron is manufacturing NAND memory devices that copy its patented manufacturing methods and chip structure, which in turn are incorporated into consumer electronics from Acer, HP, Kingston and Lenovo. The ITC will consider a limited exclusion order and cease and desist order banning the import and sale of infringing products from all five companies.

The Commerce Department has published the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on welded stainless steel pressure pipe from Vietnam (A-552-816). Rates calculated in this review will be used to set assessment rates for importers of subject merchandise from producers and exporters that was entered July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.
