Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "China import").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD antidumping).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., CBP +releases).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted term, include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

As FCC Chmn. Kennard departs today, he leaves legacy as extremely decent man who might have been more effective if he were more of a politician, industry officials told us. “He is a prince of a man, honorable, honest,” said one telecom lobbyist. “But I don’t believe he’s a politician at heart and it’s hard for that kind of person to survive the political cauldron in Washington.” No one we talked with disputed Kennard’s honorable nature. Even his ideological opposite, Comr. Furchtgott-Roth, said Thurs. that he viewed Kennard’s departure to make way for Republican as “somewhat bittersweet” because Kennard was “one of the finest, most decent individuals I've ever met.”

NASA’s NEAR Shoemaker spacecraft will begin low-altitude passes over 433 Eros asteroid Jan. 24, getting as close as one to 2 miles Jan. 28 before Feb. 12 crash landing on asteroid’s surface. Spacecraft’s descent will allow its digital camera to take close-ups of asteroid’s landscape until it reaches 1,650 ft. above surface. NEAR Shoemaker isn’t expected to survive maneuver since it wasn’t designed to land.
