CBP has issued a CSMS message announcing that on October 27, 2010 it will be holding a live Webcast to discuss the Automated Commercial Environment from 1:00-2:30 p.m. EDT. During the webcast, CBP will cover a variety of topics related to how it is dedicated to reengaging stakeholders, reenergizing efforts, and resetting the direction to make ACE a reality for everyone. Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)
The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) is the CBP's electronic system through which the international trade community reports imports and exports to and from the U.S. and the government determines admissibility.

During the August 4, 2010 meeting of the Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Related Homeland Security Functions (COAC) in Detroit, MI, a CBP official provided an update on various Automated Commercial Environment and the International Trade Data System issues.

On August 4, 2010, the Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Related Homeland Security Functions (COAC) met in Detroit, MI to discuss a variety of trade issues.
At the August 4, 2010 COAC meeting, CBP announced that Cindy Allen, National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America Educational Institute Director, has been named Executive Director of the Automated Commercial Environment. According to CBP, Allen will be working in CBP's Office of Trade, under Dan Baldwin.
On July 23, 2010, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Alan Bersin sent a letter to 16 trade and industry groups1 responding to a list of proposals that were presented to him to improve Customs regulations and operations.

On July 19, 2010, the Senate Appropriations Committee reported S. 3607, the fiscal year 20111 appropriations bill for the Department of Homeland Security (including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Transportation Security Administration, etc.)
CBP has issued a CSMS message announcing that the Automated Commercial Environment will experience an extended outage during the weekend of of July 17, 2010 to perform software upgrades. According to the message, the outage will begin at 2100 EDT on Saturday, July 17, 2010 until 0700 EDT on Sunday, July 18, 2010.
