U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted an updated version (Version 2.2) of its Automated Commercial Environment entry summary business rules and process document for the trade. Also available is an earlier version (2.1) of this document.
Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)
The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) is the CBP's electronic system through which the international trade community reports imports and exports to and from the U.S. and the government determines admissibility.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued the Automated Commercial Environment Trade Account Owner June 2010 update. Highlights of the June 2010 update include:
On June 24, 2010, the House Appropriations Committee’s Homeland Security Subcommittee held a mark-up of the fiscal year 2011 appropriations bill for the Department of Homeland Security (including U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and Transportation Security Administration). During the mark up, the Subcommittee approved the bill for full Committee action.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a document (Version 2.2) which outlines entry summary processing in the Automated Commercial Environment. A change of this significance requires revised operational policies and procedures and this document will address those changes. This document will be a living document as the different entry summary types and associated downstream processing migrate from the Automated Commercial System (ACS) to ACE.
