The Food and Drug Administration issued its weekly Enforcement Report for Dec. 21 that lists the status of recalls and field corrections for food, drugs, biologics and devices (here). The report covers both domestic and foreign firms.
The Food and Drug Administration revised a recently issued draft guidance document on food facility registration, it said (here). The revised draft guidance (here) includes two sections omitted from the previous version, issued in November (see 1611070022), addressing who is exempt from registration and definitions, FDA said. FDA requires renewal of all food facility registrations, including for foreign facilities, every two years, including this year. The deadline for registration is Dec. 31.
The Food and Drug Administration is amending its regulations on food additives permitted for use in animal feeds and water to allow for the use of feed grade sodium formate as a feed acidifying agent in complete poultry feeds, it said in a final rule that takes effect Dec. 27 (here). FDA recently allowed use of the additive in swine feeds (see 1609290024).
