The U.S. Postal Service has issued a final rule, effective June 29, 2010, which revises mailing standards to treat all cigarettes (including roll-your-own tobacco) and smokeless tobacco as nonmailable, with exceptions for certain restricted mailings. Nonmailable cigarettes and smokeless tobacco deposited in the mail will be subject to seizure and forfeiture.
