Automotive components recovered from used vehicles, if they have not undergone further remanufacturing, don't qualify for preferential treatment under USMCA, according to a recent CBP ruling.
A Federal Maritime Commission administrative law judge on Dec. 18 dismissed a complaint against CMA CGM, saying that New York-based freight forwarder Marine Transport Logistics (MTL) failed to show that the France-based ocean carrier routinely engaged in unreasonable conduct with container shipments.
The Fish and Wildlife Service announced tentative negotiating positions for next year's meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), scheduled for Nov. 24 - Dec. 5 in Uzbekistan. The International Trade Commission is beginning a Section 337 investigation on certain wireless communication devices (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1429) after receiving allegations filed by International Semiconductor Group that Dell, HP and Lenovo are importing products that infringe its patents, the agency said in a notice.

The Commerce Department issued its final determinations in the antidumping duty investigations of imports of glass wine bottles from China and Mexico, it said in a fact sheet issued Dec. 26. Commerce set AD rates ranging from 29.31% to 218.15% for Chinese exporters and 13.95% to 96.95% for Mexican exporters, the agency said. These rates will take effect upon publication of the final determination in the Federal Register, which should occur in the coming days.
The FDA has determined that agency-approved labeling for buprenorphine-containing transmucosal products to treat opioid dependence (BTODs) can be modified to clarify dosage recommendations to broaden access to the drug, it said in a notice.
The FDA is considering requiring companies to test talc-containing cosmetic products to prevent consumer exposure to asbestos, according to a Federal Register notice.
