The U.S. Council for International Business named Tatianna Sample manager of its ATA Carnet program, USCIB said in a news release Aug. 29. “In her new role, Sample will manage US and Foreign ATA Carnet Claims and will also continue to handle replacement carnet requests,” the trade group said.
American Apparel and Footwear Association CEO Steve Lamar said California's Responsible Textile Recovery Act is more implementable than the version that was introduced two years earlier. He said the trade group is pleased that amendments were made "that addressed some AAFA concerns by tightening a loophole for online marketplaces, ensuring brands’ resale efforts will be accounted for, ensuring brands’ circularity partners will be able to participate in the program, and removing brand liability for counterfeit products, among other concerns."

The Commerce Department announced the opportunity to request administrative reviews by Sept. 30 for producers and exporters subject to 40 antidumping duty orders, 12 countervailing duty orders and one suspension agreement with September anniversary dates.
The Commerce Department is giving advance notice that in automatic five-year sunset reviews scheduled to begin in October it will consider revoking the antidumping duty orders on strontium chromate from Austria (A-433-813) and France (A-427-830). These orders will be revoked, or investigation terminated, unless Commerce finds that revocation would lead to dumping and the International Trade Commission finds that revocation would result in injury to U.S. industry, Commerce said.

The U.S. has suspended liquidation for goods exported from Minera Camino Rojo, a mine in Zacatecas, after deciding a petition from Mineros, a mining union, had merit. The petition said that managers undermined worker support for Mineros and promoted the idea of joining a different mining union. This is the 27th time the U.S. has invoked the USMCA rapid response labor mechanism; all cases have been settled without a removal of tariff benefits.
