APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 8
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails May 8 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

CITES I-II-III Timber Species Manual: The CITES I-II-III Timber Species Manual (here) was updated, transmittal 05/2012-25, to change CITES contact information, to remove a listed plant inspection station, and to make other minor changes.
Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:
- Page 1-9, Table 1-2: Added to PPQ CITES contact order
- Page 2-4: Added CITES contacts instructions
- Page 2-11: Moved order of instructions and moved table to next page
- Page 2-32: Changed CITES contact information and instructions
- Page 2-33: Removed John Arcery's name and contact information
- Page 2-45: Changed CITES contact information and instructions
- Page 2-47: Removed a name and contact information; deleted footnote 7
- Page 2-129 through 2-132: Added National CITES Coordinator to contact information
- Page 3-4: Added CITES contact instructions
- Page 4-2: Added CITES contact instructions
- Page 4-3: Changed CITES contact information
- Page 4-15, 4-16: Changed CITES contact information
- Page 4-21: Changed CITES contact information
- Page 5-2: Changed order
- Page 5-3: Removed the Louisiana Plant Inspection Station from the list of designated ports
- Page 5-4: Removed a name
- Page F-26 through F-36: Added Appendix III species
Formatting and pagination changes have been made throughout the manual.
