APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 18

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails May 18, 2012, announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR & Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) have been revised. The revision is to add arugula, celery, and spinach to the list of admissible commodities from Colombia.

In FAVIR, open the Commodity Import Report (CIR) to view the import requirements. The manual page numbers that have changed are 3-74 and 3-75 (changes are indicated by black bars in the left margin.)
