APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for June 6

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails June 6 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance: The online Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual (here) was revised to update the areas of Canada regulated for potato cyst nematodes (PCN) by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). Revisions are on the following pages:

  • Chapter 2: Animal: Page 2-2.
  • Chapter 3: Plant: Pages 3-2, 3-3, 3-16, 3-44 through 3-46, 3-48 through 3-55, 3-57, and 3-58.
  • Chapter 4: Miscellaneous: Pages 4-3 through 4-5.
  • Appendix A: Certificates, Other Forms, and Permits: Page A-27.
