APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for July 5

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails July 5 announcing changes to some Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Gypsy Moth Program Manual: Revisions to the Gypsy Moth Program Manual (here), indicated by a black change bar in the left margin, are on the following pages:

  • Page M-1, Page M-2, and Page M-3 Step 2 and Step 6 should now read 100 F (37.8 C) and 6 days, instead of 120 F (49 C) for 4 days
  • Page Glossary-1 "bark products" refers to Appendix N, is should now read Appendix M.
