APHIS No Longer Regulating 10 Organisms at Ports of Entry

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced on Aug. 2 that it would no longer regulate ten organisms at ports of entry, as the National Plant Board concurs with its recommendation to change the regulatory status to non-actionable for these pests.

APHIS is no longer regulating the following organisms at ports of entry:

  • Acutaspis albopicta, albopicta scale
  • Chaetanaphothrips signipennis, banana thrips
  • Dendrothripoides innoxius, sweet potato thrips
  • Dysmicoccus neobrevipes, gray pineapple mealybug
  • Hylurgus ligniperda, red-haired pine bark beetle
  • Metamasius callizona, Mexican bromeliad weevil
  • Myllocerus undecimpustulatus undatus, Asian grey weevil
  • Pheidole megacephala, bigheaded ant
  • Siphoninus phyllyreae, ash whitefly
  • Thrips florum, banana flower thrips
