APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Sept. 12

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service issued emails Sept. 12 announcing changes to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Manual for Agricultural Clearance: The online Manual for Agricultural Clearance (here) has been revised to update the Special Procedures for Suspect Asian Gypsy Moth (AGM) Ships. Changes are on the following pages:

  • Chapter 3: Examining Carriers: Section 3: Clearing Vessels: Pages 3-3-30 through 3-3-32, 3-3-34, 3-3-36, and 3-3-38 through 3-3-44.

For paper copies of the manual, replace old pages 3-3-29 through 3-3-62 with new pages 3-3-29 through 3-3-64.

Cut Flowers and Greenery Import Manual: The online Cut Flowers and Greenery Import Manual (here) has been revised to update the import requirements for Dracaena canes. Changes are on the following pages:

  • Chapter 3: Reference: Pages 3-29 through 3-31.

For paper copies of the manual, replace old pages 3-29 through 3-66 with new pages 3-29 through 3-68.
