APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Oct. 25

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Oct. 25 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Approved Dracana spp. Facilities: The list of Approved Dracaena spp. Facilities (here) has been updated, transmittal 10/2012-07, to add a new facility to the list. The addition is on page 2.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) have been revised. There were several reasons for the revisions:

  • Israel: updated the approved grower lists for tomato (here) and pepper (here)
  • Mexico: added an orchard to the approved grower list for papaya from Chiapas
