APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Nov. 14

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Nov. 14 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual page or table numbers below.

Chapter 3-15 Miscellaneous Products, Fomites

  • Page 3-15-8 - corrected language throughout the page
  • Table 3-15-6 Straw, Hay, and Grass - listing of Mexican states has been deleted from the table
  • Table 3-15-17 Straw, Hay, and Grass from Countries OTHER THAN Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, or Norway - updated information

Appendix B List of Animal Names and Their Classes

  • Page B-1-3 - corrected the spelling of Chinesischer Schopfhirsch (R)

Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index as well as internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks have all been updated as needed.

Approved Phalaenopsis in Growing Facilities List: The list of Approved Phalaenopsis in Growing Media Facilities (here) has been updated, transmittal 11/2012-16, to change the name of grower 70-PS-046 from Jui-Fang Liang to Long Pride Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
