APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Nov. 29
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Nov. 29 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual table numbers below.
Chapter 3-16 Organs
- Table 3-16-6 Fresh, frozen organs, glands, and their derivatives of ruminants - footnote indicator #1 has been added to the first and second cells in the fourth column (And:); language in the 13th and 14th cells in the fourth column (And:) has been corrected; language in the 13th cell in the fifth column (Then:) has been added; and footnote #1 has been added to the bottom of the table
Chapter 3-18 Pet Food and Livestock, Poultry, and Aquaculture Feed
- Table 3-18-2 Pet food/animal feed (including chews, treats, and toys) additives and supplements - language in the first and second cells in the first column (Contains:) has been corrected
Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, the Index as well as internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks have all been updated as needed.
CITES Timber Manual: The CITES I-II-III Timber Species Manual (here) was updated, transmittal 11/2012-26, to revise the Designated PPQ CITES Ports and Plant Inspection Stations CITES Staff Directory. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:
- Page 5-3: Added new address for Mississippi staff
- Page 5-4: Removed identifier's name and added vacant to Oregon
