APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Dec. 3

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Dec. 3 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) have been revised. There were several reasons for the revisions:

  • Israel Arava Valley: updated the approved grower list for pepper
  • Various countries: coconut: clarified the import requirements (manual pages 3-6, 3-91, 3-174, 3-220, and 3-320)

List of Approved Greenhouses in Almeria: The list of approved greenhouses for tomatoes and peppers from Almeria Province, Spain (here) has been updated for the 2012/2013 season.
