APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Dec. 12
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Dec. 12 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Postentry Quarantine Manual: The following changes have been made to the Postentry Quarantine Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the page number below.
Appendix A Directory of PPQ Postentry Quarantine Liaison Officers
- Page A-3 - contact information for Guam has been updated
Appendix C Directory of SPROs and State PEQ Contacts
- Pages C-4, C-6, and C-7 - the contact information for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Guam, New York, and South Carolina have been updated
Links contained in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, the Index, and all internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks have been updated as necessary.
Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual figure or page number below.
Chapter 2-4 Special Procedures
- Page 2-4-31 under "Procedures" heading - language has been updated
Appendix A Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail
- Figure A-1-1 Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail - "disease status" columns have been deleted and replaced with a reference to Appendix C at the top of each page of the figure
Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, Index, and internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks have all been updated as necessary.
