APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 4

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 4 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) were revised. There were several reasons for the revisions:

  • Canada: revised language for Canadian grown fruits and vegetables (manual page 3-58)
  • Chile: clarified import requirements for multiple commodities (manual pages 3-71 through 3-74)
  • Mexico: clarified import requirements for multiple commodities (manual pages 3-217 through 3-222)
