APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 16
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 16 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes were made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual page numbers below.
Chapter 3-13 Foreign Origin Meat and Meat Products, Swine
- Throughout chapter - "Union" of European Union was deleted; Estonia, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia were added to the list of European countries
Appendix A Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Passenger Baggage or Mail
- Page A-1-16 - "Union" of European Union was deleted; Estonia, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia were added to the list of European countries
- Page A-1-21 - "Slovak Republic" was changed to "Slovakia"
Appendix C List of Foreign Countries and Their Disease Status
- Page C-1-1 - "Union" of European Union was deleted; Estonia, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia were added to the list of European countries
- Page C-1-5 Estonia - second column (Disease status affected with) SVD was deleted, CSF was changed to CSF2; fourth column (With SR) SVD/SR was added
- Page C-1-6 Hungary - second column (Disease status affected with) CSF was changed to CSF2
- Page C-1-10 Slovakia - second column (Disease status affected with) FMD and SVD were deleted, CSF was changed to CSF2; fourth column (With SR) FMD/SR was added
- Page C-1-10 Slovenia - second column (Disease status affected with) FMD was deleted, CSF was changed to CSF2; fourth column (With SR) FMD/SR was added
- Page C-1-12 - "Union" of European Union was deleted; Estonia, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia were added to the list of European countries
Appendix H List of Veterinarians
- Page H-1-1 - correction made to job title
Glossary
- Page Glossary-1-3 - "Union Member States" was replaced with "European countries"; Estonia, Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia were added to the list of European countries
Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index as well as internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks were updated as necessary.
