APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 30

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 30 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Manual for Agricultural Clearance: The online Manual for Agricultural Clearance (here) was revised to replace Appendix G with the following stand-alone document: Lists of PPQ Identifiers and PPQ National Specialists. Changes indicated by black change bars in the left page margins are on the following pages:

  • Chapter 3: Examining Carriers: Section 3: Clearing Vessels: Page 3-3-43.
  • Chapter 7: Preparing Plant Pest Interceptions: Pages 7-1-2, 7-1-11, and 7-1-13.

Links throughout the manual and the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index were also updated.
