APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 31
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 31 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes were made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual page and table numbers below.
Chapter 2-4 Special Procedures
- Table 2-4-15 Decide Whether to Allow Animal Products or By-Products to Transit for Export - "Baja California Sur" and "Nayarit" were added to and "Sur" was deleted from the third column (And is from;), first cell
Chapter 3-6 Eggs and Egg Products from Poultry, Game Birds, or Other Birds
- Table 3-6-6 Commercial Shipments of Moon Cakes - footnotes #1 and #2 were corrected
Chapter 3-11 Foreign-Origin Meat and Meat Products, Poultry
- Throughout chapter - HPAI-related footnotes were corrected
Chapter 3-13 Foreign-Origin Meat and Meat Products, Swine
- Table 3-13-3 Dehydrated (Dry) Soup Mixes Containing Swine Meat - content in fourth column (And is:), fourth cell was rearranged
Appendix A Guide to Entry Status of Animal Products in Baggage or Mail
- Throughout appendix - HPAI-related footnotes were corrected
- Page A-1-1 - reference to "Personal Use Amounts of Canadian Bovine Meat or Foods Containing Bovine Meat or Meat Products (NOT Including Pet Foods)" was corrected
- Page A-1-7 - heading "Importation of Parma Ham in Passenger Baggage" and the following paragraph were corrected
- Page A-1-17 - Australia was added to the list
- Page A-1-32 - heading "Personal Use Amounts of Canadian Bovine Meat or Foods Containing Bovine Meat or Meat Products (NOT Including Pet Foods)" and the following paragraph were corrected
Appendix C List of Foreign Countries and Their Disease Status
- Page C-1-2 - HPAI-related footnote was corrected; Australia was added to the list
Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index as well as internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks were all updated as necessary.
