APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Feb. 1

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Feb. 1 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Manual for Agricultural Clearance: The online Manual for Agricultural Clearance (here) was revised to update the action to take on transiting cargo. Changes indicated by black change bars in the left page margins are on the following page:

  • Chapter 2: Examining and Monitoring Cargo: Section 2: Clearing Transiting In-Bond Cargo: Page 2-2-3.

Links contained throughout the manual in the Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index as well as internal and external cross-references and hyperlinks were all updated as necessary.
