APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Feb. 28
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Feb. 28 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes were made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed after the individual table number below.
Appendix H List of Veterinarians
- Table H-1-2 List of PPQ-AQI-VMO - "covered territory" information was updated
Postentry Quarantine Manual: The following changes were made to the Postentry Quarantine Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed below.
Appendix A Directory of PPQ Quarantine Liaison Officers
- Throughout appendix - corrections were made to contact information for the following States: Alaska; Kentucky; New Hampshire; New Mexico; Ohio; Tennessee; Vermont; and West Virginia
Appendix C Directory of SPROs and State PEQ Contacts
- Throughout appendix - corrections were made to contact information for the following States: Connecticut; Iowa; Louisiana; Maryland; Massachusetts; Montana; North Carolina; North Dakota; Rhode Island; and Wyoming.
CITES Timber Manual: The CITES l-ll-lll Timber Species Manual (here) was updated, transmittal 02/2013-28, to revise the Designated CITES Ports and Plant Inspection Stations CITES Staff Directory. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:
- Page 2-28: Added the new link to CITES National Contacts for a list of CITES Management Authorities
- Page E-1-2: Deleted a phone number from San Francisco PIS; deleted a name and a phone number from Miami PIS
- Page E-1-5: Deleted a name from Blaine, WA and added vacant
