APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for March 13

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes March 13 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Lists of PPQ Identifiers and Specialists: The Lists of PPQ Identifiers, Co-lateral, and National Specialists (here) was updated. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:

  • Page 14: Removed the former San Diego, Calif., entomologist's name and added vacant
  • Page 15: Added "All ports within U.S. territory" to the National CITES Specialist's area of coverage
