APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for March 20

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes March 20 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes to the Animal Product Manual (here) were made to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed below.

Chapter 3-11 Foreign Origin Meat and Meat Products, Poultry

  • Table 3-11-9 Perishable Poultry Pate and the Pate Contains Pork or Pork Products (Including Unrendered Fat) OTHER THAN Lard - footnote indicators were corrected throughout the fifth column
  • Table 3-11-15 Fresh (Chilled or Frozen) Meat or Meat Products of Poultry and Fowl - footnote indicators were corrected throughout the second column
  • Table 3-11-17 Fresh (Chilled or Frozen) Meat or Meat Products of Poultry and Fowl from a Country or Region Known to be FREE from HPAI and END, from OTHER THAN Argentina and Canada - footnote indicators were corrected throughout the second column
  • Table 3-11-18 Determine Status of Fresh Meat of Poultry from a Country of Origin Known to be FREE from HPAI and END, BUT Transited a Country Known to be Affected with HPAI or END - footnote indicators were corrected throughout the second column
