APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for April 11
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes April 11 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes were made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed below.
Chapter 3-13 Foreign Origin Meat and Meat Products, Swine
- Table 3-13-1 Swine Meat and Meat Products and Meat By-Products - language was added in the second column, seventh cell; footnote #1 was deleted; new footnote #2 was added.
- Table 3-13-9 Cooked Swine Meat - "As is" column was deleted; Mexico and Poland cells were added; added language in the second column, fifth and eighth cells
- Table 3-13-12 Cooked Swine Meat from a Country or Region Listed as Part of the APHIS-Defined European CSF Region OTHER THAN Italy, Poland, or Spain - heading and table titles were edited to include Poland; "As is" column was deleted; language in the second column, first cell was changed; footnote #3 was deleted
- Table 3-13-31 Fresh (Chilled or Frozen) Swine Meat/Meat By-Products - table title was edited; language in the first column, first cell was corrected; second, third, and fourth rows were added to the second column
- Table 3-13-35 Fresh (Chilled or Frozen) Swine Meat from a Country or Region Listed as Part of the APHIS-Defined European CSF Region - Poland was added; new footnote #2 was added
- Table 3-13-38 Cooked Swine Meat from Poland - new table
Chapter 3-15 Miscellaneous Products
- Table 3-15-10 Human Pharmaceuticals, Human Vaccines, Antivenom, Dietary Supplements, Organs and Their Derivatives, and Neutriceuticals Containing Animal-Derived Components - footnote #2 was corrected
Appendix G Certificates and Permits
- Figures G-1-73 and G-1-74 Example of Official Meat Inspection Certificate for Meat Products Exported (from Poland) to the United States of America - new figures
- Figures G-1-75 and G-1-76 Example of Official Meat Inspection Certificate for Fresh Meat and Meat By-Products Exported (from Poland) to the United States of America - new figures
Seeds Not for Planting Manual: The Seeds Not for Planting Manual (here) was updated, transmittal 04/2013-59, to revise Cuscuta spp. (dodder). Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin, are as follows:
- Page 3-23: Added a new Table 3-16; added examples of products where whole dodder seeds may be included
