APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for April 19

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes April 19 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

List of PPQ Identifiers and National Specialists: The List of PPQ Identifiers and National Specialists (here) was updated, transmittal 04/2013-04, to revise PPQ Nationals specialists' contact information for Thysanoptera interceptions. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:

  • Page 19, Table 4: Revised contact information for PPQ identifiers to send Thysanoptera URGENTS
  • Page 20, Table 5: Revised contact information for PPQ identifiers to send Thysanoptera Routines and Prompts

Procedures remain unchanged for first routing interceptions for identification to the local identifier (see page 18 for URGENTS and page 22 for Routines and Prompts).
