APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for April 22

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes April 22 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Gypsy Moth Manual: The online Gypsy Moth Program Manual (here) was revised to do the following:

  • Update links to appendices
  • Replace an outdated link to old Appendix C with a new link to the current list of areas quarantined in the United States for gypsy moth
  • Replace outdated links to information on identifying gypsy moth instars
  • Update links to information on Asian gypsy moth

Changes indicated by black change bars in the left page margins are on the following pages:

  • Table of Contents: Pages TOC-1 through TOC-3.
  • Chapter 1: Introduction: Page 1-5.
  • Chapter 2: Detection Survey: Page 2-10.
  • Chapter 6: Regulatory Section Introduction: Pages 6-1 and 6-3.
  • Chapter 17: Planning for Control Activities: Pages 17-5 and 17-6.
  • Chapter 25: Asian Gypsy Moth: Pages 25-1 and 25-2.
