APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 3

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes May 3 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Manual for Agricultural Clearance: The online Manual for Agricultural Clearance (here) was revised to update phone numbers for contacting Quarantine, Policy, Analysis, and Support (QPAS) and Veterinary Services (VS) Import-Export Animals Staff. Changes indicated by black change bars in the left page margins are on the following pages:

  • Chapter 1: Introduction: Page 1-1-11.
  • Chapter 2: Examining and Monitoring Cargo: Section 1: Clearing Imported Cargo and Inspecting Cargo Holds: Pages 2-1-14 and 2-1-22.
  • Chapter 8: Violations: Page 8-1-24.
  • Appendix A: Completing and Distributing Forms: Pages A-1-110 and A-1-138.
  • Appendix B: Completing Regulated Garbage Compliance Agreements: Pages B-1-13, B-1-14, and B-1-20
  • Appendix D: Cooperation with Other Federal Agencies: Page D-1-3.
  • Appendix G: Sources of Supply for Cleaning and Disinfecting Materials: Page G-1-1.
