APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 10

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes May 10 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

PPQ Identifiers and Specialists: The Lists of PPQ Identifiers and Co-lateral and National Specialists (here) was updated, transmittal 05/2013-05. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:

  • Page 2: Replaced entomologist's name with vacant
  • Page 4: Added to JFKIA botanist's Preclearance area of coverage
  • Page 5: Added to Linden botanist's Preclearance area of coverage
  • Page 7: Added to Miami pathologist's and Orlando plant pathologist's Preclearance area of coverage
  • Page 9: Deleted vacant and added Blaine entomologist's name
  • Page 12: Added to Los Angeles plant pathologists' Preclearance area of coverage
  • Page 13: Deleted plant inspection station reference from Port of New Orleans and added entomologist's new address
