APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 30

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes May 30 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) were revised. The reason for the revision was to remove a papaya orchard from the list of approved growers for papaya from Chiapas. The orchard ending the export season is Italia Papaya, located in the municipality of Mazatan, Chiapas. Also, the list of commodities admissible from Canada (Table 3-45, pages 3-58 through 3-61) was corrected.
