APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for June 28

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes June 28 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Seeds Not for Planting Manual: The Seeds Not for Planting Manual (here) was updated, transmittal 06/2013-61. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:

  • Page 2-5, 2-6, 2-7, 2-17, 3-3, 3-16, 3-35: Added a valid 588 permit (either a Departmental permit or a Controlled Import Permit)
  • Page 3-16, Table 3-10 and Table 3-11: Deleted footnote
  • Page 3-36, 3-37, 3-38: Table 3-31 and Table 3-32: Deleted option; added a valid 588 permit (either a Departmental permit or a Controlled Import Permit
