APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for July 1

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes July 1 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual: The following changes were made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed below.

Table 3-178 Wheat--milled products and by-products concerning bunted kernels - "wheat bran" was added to the first cell in the first column (If the product is:)

Table 3-179 Wheat--milled products and by-products - "wheat bran" was added to the first cell in the first column (If the milled product is OTHER THAN:)

Approved Dracaena Facilities: The list of Approved Dracaena spp. Facilities authorized to export Dracaena spp. from Costa Rica to the U.S. (here) was updated, transmittal 07/2013-12. Facility #928, Mundiplantas Limitada S.A., was removed from approved facilities list, effective June 28, 2013.
