APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for July 10

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes July 10 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes were made in the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections. The specific changes are listed below.

Chapter 3-3 Blood and Related By-Products

  • Former Tables 3-3-4 (Blood Imported for Pharmaceutical Use) and 3-3-5 (Dried Blood Products NOT Fully Rendered) were combined into a single Table 3-3-4 Blood Imported for Pharmaceutical Use OR Dried Blood Products NOT Fully Rendered

Chapter 3-13 Foreign-Origin Swine Meat and Meat Products

  • Table and figure references were corrected throughout the chapter

Chapter 3-14 Milk and Milk Products

  • Web address to access CBP Form 434 (North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Certificate of Origin) was added throughout the chapter

Chapter 3-15 Miscellaneous Products

  • Web address to access CBP Form 434 (North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Certificate of Origin) was added throughout the chapter

Appendix H List of Veterinarians

  • Page H-1-5 link to Animal Health Area Offices was updated
