APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Nov. 26
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Nov. 26 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Treatment Manual: The USDA APHIS PPQ Treatment Manual (here) was revised. There were several reasons for the revision:
- Added litchi from Australia to treatment schedule T105-a-2 on page 5-2-72 (Federal Register Notice, APHIS-2009-0084, effective October 23, 2013)
- Added mango from Australia to treatment schedule T105-a-3 on page 5-2-72 (Federal Register Notice, APHIS-2011-0040, effective November 20, 2013)
- Revised tables 5-8-2 and 5-8-9 for bifenthrin treatment of imported fire ant on pages 5-8-10 and 5-8-16 (Federal Register Notice, APHIS-2012-0064, effective November 26, 2013)
- Clarified the definition of "absence" from a fumigation site (page 2-2-3)
- Removed references to "export treatments" (contact Michael.J.Perry@aphis.usda.gov for questions) (pages 1-1-1 through 1-1-3, 2-4-2, 2-4-23, 2-9-2, 2-9-3, 2-11-19, 5-4-22, and 5-7-1 through 5-7-6)
