APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Dec. 6
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Dec. 6 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables and flowers.

Treatment Manual. The USDA APHIS PPQ Treatment Manual (here) has been updated. There were several reasons for the update:
- Add alternative common names for pitahaya (also known as dragon fruit or pitaya) to treatment schedules T101-d-3, T101-e-3, T104-a-1, T104-a-2, T105-a-1, T105-a-2, and Table 2-3-1-List of Commodities Covered by FIFRA Section 18 Exemption
- Remove T107-k
- Add approved temperature recorders and sensors for cold and hot water treatments.
Changes are indicated by black change bars in the left margin of pages 2-3-3, 2-3-4, 5-2-53, 5-2-66, 5-2-68, 5-2-72, 5-2-73, 5-2-84, E-24, E-25, E-53 and E54.
